Lesson 19: Conjuntions

Conjunctions: besides, nevertheless, however, otherwise, therefore.
Introduction:

Use conjunctions to connect two or more ideas. They function as a transition between two statements.

Structure:

statement 1 'conjunction' statement 2

Examples:

Nevertheless: Means ‘but’, ‘on the other hand’
He has not begun to manage nevertheless he has a team.
However: Means ‘but’ , ‘though’, ‘still’
I can work on the project; however I cannot assure success.
Otherwise: Means ‘if not/or else’
We must find out who the competition is otherwise we will not get the contract
Therefore: Means ‘so’ ‘consequently’ ‘as a result’
I worked with the competition therefore, I was the best to evaluate the situation.
Besides: Means ‘in addition’ ‘as well’ ‘further’
I cannot find an answer now because I am too busy. Besides, it is being evaluated next week.
