Lesson 6: Using Do, Don't

Introduction:

Consider do and its negatives as auxiliary verbs. They are used to express negative and interrogative but to emphasize an action as well. (Remember that it is also a regular verb.)

Structure:

Do Don't Does Doesn't + subject + verb
Subject + do, do not, don't, does, does not, doesn't + verb

Examples:

Do you like to travel?
Don't you like to travel?
Do you not like to travel?
I don't like to travel.
I do like to travel.
I do my English work every week.
Does she like to travel?
Doesn't she like to travel?
Does she not like to travel?
She doesn't like to travel.
He does like to travel.
She does her English work every week.
