Flavor: The taste
I like the flavor of French wines.
Fruity: It tastes like fruit
That wine has a fruity taste.
Brut / Sec: Dry tasting wines like Champagne
Champagnes taste better when they are brut.
Burgundy: A region in France
I like burgundy wines.
Full-bodied: A rich taste
Burgundy wines have a full-bodied taste.
Mature: Wine that is ready to drink
That wine has a mature taste. We should drink it right away.
Aging (aged): How old a wine is
How long has the wine been aging?
Cork: Used to close a wine bottle
Corks are used for bottles of wine to close them.

Cork screw: Used to open wine
The cork screw made a noise when we opened the wine.
Corked: When the wine has the taste of a cork
That wine has a corked taste. We should send it back.
Oenology: The art of wine
She is studying oenology. She is becoming an expert.
Fermentation: The time it takes for a wine to be ready
How long does fermentation take for a wine?
Nose: The term used to describe the smell of the wine
I like the nose of that wine.
Open: To remove the cork
Can you open the bottle?
Vintage: The year of the wine
2012 was a good vintage year.
Yield: The amount of wine you produce
I think there is a better yield in Burgundy this year than in California.
Young: Not old
That wine has a young taste.
Sweet: Tastes like sugar
That is a very sweet wine.
Terroir: Speciality foods unique to an area (usually in France)
You can taste the Sancerre terroir.
Texture: The body
California wines can have a nice texture.
Acidity: The acid taste in a wine
How is the acidity in the wine?
Barrel: Containers where you store wine (made from wood)
They produce 200 barrels.
Blend: A mixture of grapes
That tastes like a nice blend of grapes.
Aroma: The smell of the wine
The aroma is very special.
Vineyard: Where wine is produced
They Vineyard is in Napa Valley.
